SPArte – são paulo’s art fair

SPArte, the biggest art fair in são paulo, brazil, opened today with only very few examples on indigenous livelihood. luis gonzález palma, is one of them.

galeria de babel dedicated a solo show to the guatemalan artist. born in 1957, gonzalez palma lives and works in argentina. in his photographs he traces people with mayan and mestizos heritage, religious customs, beliefs and origins.

considering the immense native heritage in the latin american world, one feels the heavy lack of the native people’s inclusion in the commercial art world …
