art and ecology: revitalising (post)-industrial landscapes?

very excited of being invited to present my work on art as a driving force in revitalisation processes at the instituto de filosofo e ciências humanas, unicamp.

my talk focuses on revitalisation processes and philanthropic capitalism in japan, in particular the benesse art site in rural naoshima and its recent collaboration with china. additionally, I highlight the transformation of a former urban mining site katowice, the capital of silesia in poland into a ‘cultural axis’ and the new branding approach of the former heavy industrial city.
