art basel – hong kong
art basel, probably the most famous art fair around the world, traveled to hong kong also this year. I indulged in a two floors journey through the asian art market, looking for examples how and if indigenous art is presented.
whereas the main topic of lots of participating artists circled around questions of identity, only few examples of native art crossed my path.
famous nyapnyapa yurupingu from aboriginal australia was one of them. gäna (self) is an installation made of natural earth pigments, presented by roslyn oxley9 gallery.
