OEFE – Of Earth For Earth
Of Earth For Earth just got published!
Geologists, engineers, anthropologists, community representatives, environmental scientists, artists, the list of contributors is long. OEFE – Of Earth For Earth compiles insightful, and pluriverse viewpoints, thoughts, concerns, visions and artistic expressions on the extraction of natural resources. Writers and artists are inviting the reader to reflect on the heritage, environmental impact, indigenous approaches, our needs for minerals in regards to our modern way of living, in short: the complex dilemma that represents mining. In the written word and through the arts the perspectives represent an exciting conclusion of the Horizon 2020 Imp@ct project on small scale and short duration mining. The latter was ‘finissaged’ by a comprehensive conference and exhibition of the same name at Heartlands, Cornwall UK in March 2020 (see here). The extended portfolio is thus a fresh take on the traditional catalogue format and gives an intriguing insight into our state of the art perception and approach to mining.
