VISION and Objectives
The exploitation of natural resources and their processing leave implacable imprints on the environment. The visual transformation of the landscape mirrors the regional socio-economic, and environmental impacts on local people. Environmental and social responsibility are key indicators in the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) performance. The cultural voices, barriers, and ramifications and the need for a new expertise of soft skills that are based on the integration of human aspects in education and business are yet underrepresented in the discussions and subject to this think tank.
How do we want to live and create together?
The question of mining is becoming increasingly complex and multidimensional. The specialisation of disciplines in science and technology, an increased digitalisation, global profit chains and financial investment structures challenge an effective communication and interaction between sectors and society in the local realm. Bubble thinking and closed entities face the danger of eliminating complexity in the quest for the creation of shared values. Being mindful of the interconnectedness of everything, the necessity for diversity and meaning in life processes and in human relations, however, are essential motivators for an effective business performance as well as in building trust.
artEC/Oindustry thus aspires to open spaces of dialogue with the aim of developing a new, empathetic policy role model in the mining sector that includes human aspects from the early stages on.
